Moon-Viewing (Tsukimi)

Hi dear friends, Tonight is moon viewing in Japan and I would like to introduce and explain about this autumn festival!

Tsukimi or moon-viewing refers to Japanese festivals honoring the autumn moon, a version of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The celebration of the full moon typically takes place on the 15th day of the eighth month of the traditional Japanese calendar; the waxing moon is celebrated on the 13th day of the ninth month. These days normally fall in September and October of the modern solar calendar.

Tsukimi traditions include displaying decorations made from Japanese pampas grass (susuki) and eating rice dumplings called Tsukimi dango in order to celebrate the beauty of the moon and  also implies a prayer for good harvest with their allusion to Japan’s premier member of grass family,Rice.Seasonal produce are also displayed as offerings to the moon.

So,

Here is our Tsukimi decoration:

And honestly for me Pampas grasses  viewing !!!is much more interesting! 🐾😸🐾

Here is Violet sketch as well:

Ah, Violet is calling me again and and telling me not to bite or touch pampas grasses!

Have a beautiful day, night dear friends and if you have full moon in the sky, make a wish and may all your wishes come true…..

Before August ends…

Hi dear friends,

It has been a long time again since Violet has posted anything.(Not even a photo of me!) 🐾

Well she was very busy. I know that. Last month we had a surprise. Violet’s daughter came back from the States to visit us. It was really a huge surprise!! 🙀 I will never forget Violet’s face when she opened the door and saw her. 😸 Boy how she screaaaaamed!!???? And even for a while she got so confused and was talking to me in English, Japanese, and Persian!( Although I know all of those languages!!!) 🙀😺

I was so glad to see her after 3 years, honestly I missed her caresses and rubs, playing with her, sleeping on her bed and sometimes biting her feet in the middle of the night!!…. And above all I missed her brushing my hair every morning….. 😻

She has already left and gone back to the States but I’m already missing her and I can see Violet feels sad too but I’m trying my best to keep her happy. Anyway, before the end of the month I’d like to show you her August wreath and her oil painting for this month.

Have a great weekend , coming week dear friends❤️🐾❤️

July Wreath!

Hi everyone,

Hot, humid weather here! I(Malus)don’t  prefer taking nap at the balcony in this season🐾so most of the time,  I’m taking one like this:

For this month, Violet decorated wreath with morning glories, sunflowers  and a little wind chime , feels little bit cooler than weather outside😸

And here is her sketches of hydrangea flowers from last month🐾 🐈

Hope you all have a great week!❤️🐾

Hi dear friends, this is Violet;

Recently there are many sad, unfortunate news out there, from around the world…Sometimes I just want to shout out: STOP THE MADDNESS…enough is enough…where is the humanity heading to?? Please stop ……

Just pray and hope  for peace in the world. Pray and hope to hear no more news about violence, terror and war….

Tanabata!

Hi everyone,

Blogging after one month again. I have many news about last month but before that I would like to tell you about today,   July 7th, Tanabata day(evening) in Japan !

Tanabata is a festival that is celebrated every year on July 7 . When this time of year comes around, people write their wishes on strips of paper and hang them on bamboo trees, along with decorations.

Tanabata, also known as the “star festival”, according to a Chinese legend, the two stars Altair and Vega, which are usually separated from each other by the milky way, are able to meet.

Each city or place has their own decoration for Tanabata. Here I had taken some photos from Hachimangu shrine, in Kamakura city.

And here is our small bamboo

“Waoo,Violet,

What is this tree?i love the sound of the leaves! Can I bite them?”

No, Malus,

You just make a wish and I will decorate it on the tree!😁

And here our little Tanabata bamboo tree with many wishes……

And a quick sketch of that!

My first wish on the top of the tree is  “World Peace,صلح در دنيا،世界平和 ”

💫🌟Now, you my dear friend, make a wish or wishes tonight and may all your wishes come true!❤️💫🌟

Season’s Souvenir 2

Hi everyone ,

Today will continue about violet’s memories in past April!  Sakura talks again🐾🌸🐾

During Sakura season people here enjoy flowers and also special sweets in this season!  Here violet will show you some of them!

Those sweets are made by sakuras flowers and their leaves flavor, rice, sweet beans and wrapped in salted sakura’s leaves. Also using Sakura dried flowers in sweets and dried salty sakura tea that tastes really good!

Those blossoms are beautiful even when they start to falling down. It looks like the petal are dancing in the air and sometimes like snow….

In mid late of April, a new type of sakuras ,Yaezakura(means one flower consists of as many pink petals)will bloom and again another joy .

Now, there is no flowers on tress but  beautiful memories (for violet taste too!) are remain! 🐾

Time to enjoy fresh green leaves everywhere and looking forward sakuras next year…..
